The site is of a former jail house in Dolgellau, North Wales. Sitting in the beautiful Snowdonia National Park.

Our vision was to create a modern detached family home to the site of the former Gaol. The design is complimentary to the context and history of the site, successfully managing to balance the traditional elements with contemporary living and style, adding to the richness of the fabric of Dolgellau.

The proposal takes advantage of its setting, large windows to the rear facade allow for unrestricted views of the landscape beyond. References to the former use of the site can be found throughout the design and allows for the memory of the old Gaol to live on.
